Can a phone bought in Spain be used in Ireland?

Im goin on holidays to lanzarote and recently found out there is a vodafone shop there. I am currently a vodafone customer and I'm wondering If I bough a phone from the vodafone shop in Lanzarote can I use it in Ireland like a normal phone? Please Help!
