Is a Party (not a Shower) appropriate for a 3rd and last baby?

maybe if you can handel it to have a welcome home party a week after they are born and just tell people "sorry we need more nappies but i cant get them could you" just tell people as well that your so gratefull to have everything but is still a few things and it would be appreciated if your going to get anything you make it practical for this baby
