Why do I do this?

I automatically dislike anyone who is "idolized". I guess a good example would be Chris Daughtry. I saw him on last season's American Idol and I thought he was the best of the best. But, as soon as he got popular, he didn't seem all that great to me. This has happened many times with me, with various people. As soon as they make it big, I turn my head. Why? Does anyone else feel this way? (this is silly, I know, I'm just wondering)
